Ranthambhore National Park

The ex-hunting ground of the Maharajahs Jaipur, the Ranthambhore National Park is one of the largest tiger reserves in, where the Aravalli Hill ranges and Vindhyan plateau meet. Bounded by the river Chambal in the south and Banas in north, the park is excellent eye-treat of wildlife lovers. Various man-made lakes and natural rivers are the central attraction of the park. Located in Sawai Madhopur District of eastern Rajasthan, Ranthambhore National Park is one of the finest and popular national parks in India. It got the status of national park in the year of 1957 and came under “Project Tiger” in the year of 1974.
The park is well known for royal Bengal tigers. It has good population of tigers hence tigers can be spotted here easily even during the daylight. It is the one of the best places in India to see majestic tigers in natural habitats. Apart from tigers, the park also has many other spices of animals such as leopards, nilgai, wild dogs, wild boar, striped hyenas, sloth bear, spotted deer, sambar, deer, etc. It is also home to different species of birds, reptiles, plants and tress. There are approximately 300 trees, 50 aquatic plants, 265 birds, 15 reptiles, and 30 mammals inside the forest. It is also site for India’s second largest banyan tree.
Best way to explore wildlife tourism at Ranthambhore Wildlife Sanctuary is Jeep Safari. Best time to visit this park is the period between November and May.
