Jaipur is the capital and largest city of Rajasthan. It is the first planned city of India. It is also called as the Pink City of India because almost all buildings in the wall city of Jaipur are painted in shades of pink or red. This charming pink city was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, a great builder, ruler and astronomer.

The fort is also accessible by jeeps. Jal Mahal is a five-storey building located in the middle of the Mansagar Lake. The four bottom floors are submerged into water of the lake. The only top floor is visible from outside.

Located in the hearty of Jaipur the City Palace in fact is a palace complex housing beautiful buildings, pavilions, temples, gardens, courtyards, etc. Chandra Mahal (Moon Palace), Mubarak Mahal (Welcome Palace), Maharani Palace, Sheesh Mahal, Pitam Niwas Chowk, Peacock Gate, Diwan-I-Aam, Diwan-I-Khas, Govind Dev Ji Temple, etc are major attractions in side the palace complex. Hawa Mahal is adjacent to the palace complex. It is a five-storey building and its exteriors look akin to the honeycomb of the beehive due to 953 latticed windows called Jharokhas.
